Dean of Students

The Dean of Students supports students seeking academic or personal advising and collaborates on student governance, programming, wellness, and inclusion.

The Dean of Students is a key figure in providing academic assistance, overseeing curriculum planning and advising, class registration, joint degree matters, exam issues, class recordings, tutoring programs, and issues arising under the Academic Integrity Policy. The office also takes charge of Pitt Law Academy programs, the Commencement ceremony, and other student recognitions. Beyond these responsibilities, the Dean is deeply involved in wellness programming and outreach, offering support and assistance to students dealing with family or other emergencies, and providing counseling referrals. The office works in close collaboration with the University's Disability Support Services Office to ensure comprehensive support for law students with a wide range of ongoing disabilities and those temporarily disabled by illness or injury.
