Nominate a Pitt Law alum for one of our three distinct alumni awards:
Distinguished Alumni Award
The University of Pittsburgh Law Alumni Association’s Distinguished Alumni Award was established in 1973 in order to recognize graduates of the University of Pittsburgh School of Law who, through the accomplishments in their careers and contributions to their profession and/or their communities, have enhanced the reputation of the Law School and are worthy of recognition. Distinguished Alumni Awardees should serve as examples to others. There is no other requisite for receipt of the Distinguished Alumni Award.
When selecting individuals to receive the Award, the following criteria will be considered:
· Outstanding career achievement
· Contributions to the legal profession
· Service or contributions to the Law School or the University of Pittsburgh
· Community service
· Character, dignity, and respect of peers
Public Service/Pro Bono Alumni Award
The University of Pittsburgh Law Alumni Association’s Public Service/Pro Bono Alumni Award was established in 2018 to honor a graduate’s commitment through outstanding service to the public good through their work with public interest organizations, government agencies, or law firm pro bono projects. The award will be presented to alumni who have dedicated time and energy to the public welfare and to help improve the lives of the less fortunate and society at large.
Young Alumni Award
The University of Pittsburgh Law Alumni Association’s Recent Alumni Award was established in 2018 to honor an individual who has graduated within the past ten years. The recipient should demonstrate significant leadership and service contributions to Pitt Law School and the legal profession.
