Endowment Scholarships

This endowment is designed for students who commit to pursuing Intellectual Property Law. To be eligible for consideration, students must provide evidence of their intent to specialize in IP Law by either (a) submitting a statement outlining their intention to specialize and demonstrating that they have taken at least one intellectual course or (b) participating in an intellectual property pursuit during law school, such as an IP Moot Court Competition, an IP Paper, or another pursuit that shows a genuine interest in IP.

This scholarship provides financial assistance to a student who is passionate about torts. Priority will be given to a student focused on protecting the rights of individuals who have suffered injuries due to the careless or inappropriate actions of others.

This endowment will provide financial assistance to a law student who excels academically and has committed to working in the public sector.

The endowment aims to offer scholarships to students based on academic merit and financial need, with preference given to those from Western Pennsylvania, particularly Lawrence, Butler, Beaver, and Allegheny counties.

This scholarship is available to second-year law students who are Pennsylvania residents and can demonstrate financial need, high moral character, and academic excellence. The scholarship may be renewed for their final year of law school.

This endowment is available to a needy student with the surname of Murphy.

This scholarship is available for two third-year students, selected based on financial need and academic merit.

This scholarship is a three-year financial aid commitment for a new student, subject to satisfactory academic performance. The annual award amount will decrease each year.

This scholarship is available to a resident of Allegheny County.

This endowment is designed to offer financial aid to students to cover tuition and other education-related expenses. Students with strong academic records, those who have graduated from a college or university in New York State, and those who have shown interest in healthcare or white-collar crime law will be given preference.

This endowment is available to a second or third-year student who demonstrates financial need.

This scholarship is available to a worthy student demonstrating financial need.

This endowment is intended for a student from Southwestern Pennsylvania who has completed their first year of study. The award recipient will be selected based on their exceptional academic performance in the first year and their financial need. If the recipient maintains the selection criteria, the award may be renewed for their third year of study.

This scholarship is available to an incoming first-year student and renewable for the second and third years, provided the student maintains satisfactory academic progress.

This scholarship is available to second—and third-year students who have successfully completed their first year of law school at Pitt Law. The recipient will demonstrate high academic achievement, as exemplified by their cumulative GPA. Candidates must also demonstrate personal responsibility and commitment to the School of Law.

This scholarship is available to incoming first-year and second-year students interested in pursuing public interest law.

This scholarship is available to first-year students who demonstrate financial need and require funds for textbooks and other resources.

This scholarship is designed for law students with a financial need and a keen interest in working in the public sector. The scholarship honors the four generations of Duffs who have either graduated from or taught at Pitt Law: John T. Duff (JD '08), who taught law for more than 40 years; his sons, John M. Duff (JD '38), William R. Duff (JD '41), and Richard O. Duff (Yale Law (JD ‘48)), who also taught there; his grandson, Daniel Duff (JD ‘68); and his great-grandson, Daniel M. Booker (JD '15).

This scholarship is exclusively available to third-year JD law students enrolled in the Health Law Certificate Program. It is awarded based on academic merit and financial need. Additionally, JD students enrolled in the Center for Bioethics and Health Law may be considered for this scholarship.
