Advisor-Advisee Program

Advisors have been assigned to all JD students and can be viewed on PeopleSoft in your Student Services Center tab. Except for the first semester of your first year, you must meet, virtually or in person, with your advisor once each semester and have your advisor sign a designated form available on Docusign. Failure to complete the form will mean that an ADV hold will be placed on your account, and you will not be able to register for the next semester’s classes.

To facilitate the meetings between advisors and advisees, the Vice Dean and Assistant Dean of Students will designate days each semester as Student Advising Day(s) when students and faculty should plan to meet unless they mutually prefer a different date. The program's purpose is to allow faculty to be more closely engaged with individual students, to ensure that they are on target for graduation, taking classes that will help achieve their career objectives, and are in an excellent position to pass the bar.
