Drew Roberts

Professor of Practice

Drew Roberts is a Professor of Practice and the Director of the Semester in DC Program at Pitt Law. In addition to this role, Mr. Roberts is an attorney advisor-international with the U.S. Department of Commerce Office of General Counsel’s Commercial Law Development Program (CLDP). At CLDP, Mr. Roberts conducts technical assistance and capacity building programs focused on public and private commercial reform in Eastern and Southeastern Europe. This includes a variety of foreign assistance interventions including government-to-government work on public procurement reform, customs modernization, regulatory transparency, inter and intra-governmental communication, and intellectual property enforcement. Mr. Roberts also regularly conducts programming aimed at improving legal education and expanding career development opportunities, particularly through the use of experiential learning, for law students from Eastern and Southeastern Europe. He previously worked as an International Trade Specialist with the U.S. Department of Commerce’s International Trade Administration, working to ensure foreign government compliance with international trade agreements. This included participation on the U.S. delegation to the World Trade Organization’s Technical Barriers to Trade Committee and Sanitary and Phytosanitary Measures Committee. He initially joined federal government service as a Presidential Management Fellow and began his legal career as a clerk for Judge Deborah A. Kunselman in the Court of Common Pleas of Beaver County, Pennsylvania. 
 
Mr. Roberts received his JD from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law (’15). He holds an LL.M. in Human Rights Law from Queen’s University Belfast and a BA in Government and Politics from the University of Maryland. Mr. Roberts is admitted to practice in Pennsylvania.
