Pitt Law 3L Anthony Jessel (JD '23) was announced as the 2023 winner of Pennsylvanian’s for Modern Courts (PMC) Law Student Writing Competition. The contest carried a prize of $5,000 and was sponsored by Faegre Drinker Biddle & Reath. His winning paper, “Closing the Justice Gap: Mandatory Pro Bono as a Progressive Initiative,” answered this year's question, “Can Pennsylvania institute a requirement that every lawyer licensed in the Commonwealth devote a specified number of hours per year to indigent or pro bono clients?”
Anthony was recognized at PMC’s Spring into Action Benefit on May 2.
