The University of Pittsburgh School of Law is proud to announce that Gregory B. Jordan (JD '84), Vice Chairman of The PNC Financial Services Group, Inc., will be the keynote speaker for the Class of 2025 Commencement Ceremony. The ceremony will take place on Thursday, May 8, 2025, at 11 a.m. at Soldiers & Sailors Memorial Hall.
Jordan, who retired in 2024 as PNC’s General Counsel and Chief Administrative Officer, has had a distinguished 40-year legal career. During his 11-year tenure at PNC, he played a pivotal role in major transactions, including the BBVA USA acquisition, which transformed PNC into a national financial powerhouse. Beyond legal counsel, he oversaw key corporate functions, including Ethics, Communications and Marketing, the PNC Foundation, and Enterprise Change Management.
Before joining PNC, Jordan served as Global Managing Partner of Reed Smith, where he led the firm’s expansion into a global legal powerhouse with $1 billion in revenue and 1,800 lawyers across 25 offices worldwide.
Jordan remains deeply involved in civic and professional organizations, serving on the boards of Highmark Health, MSA Safety Inc., and the Pro Bono Institute.
A proud Pitt Law alumnus, Jordan earned his JD cum laude in 1984 and was a member of the Law Review and Order of the Coif. He has been honored as a University of Pittsburgh Legacy Laureate and received the 225 Medallion, the University’s highest alumni distinction.
