Prof. Jacquelin Walker (she/her) is an attorney, artist, and advocate for equity and justice in the arts and entertainment. She started her career in television production at Turner Studios in Atlanta, Georgia, before moving on to the world of talent representation at the Creative Artists Agency, then to in-house legal at the Harry Walker Agency, both in New York. In 2016, Walker launched Fete-Fete Ltd., a creative and wellness studio that takes a holistic approach to building community for artists by producing arts events and exhibitions and providing professional and personal development workshops and creative collaboration services. In 2020, she launched the Law Office of Jacquelin Walker, which serves the commercial legal needs of artists, entertainers, and the institutions that serve them. Rooted in an access to justice philosophy, the practice supports communities in developing a deeper sense of agency and understanding of the law by incorporating their lexicon, culture, values, and visions into actionable legal policies, processes, and documents.
As a faculty member at the University of Pittsburgh, Prof. Walker shares insights learned in her practice in courses like Introductory Entertainment Law, Legal Writing for Commercial Transactions, and Wicked Problems Innovation. She also serves as a law professor to the people, by providing community-based workshops on the law and practical steps participants can take to access and engage with transactional legal matters in their day-to-day personal and business lives.
Prof. Walker is admitted to practice in New York and Pennsylvania. She is a graduate of Clark Atlanta University, the University of Pittsburgh School of Law, and YogaRoots on Location.
