Rhonda Wasserman on Use of Social Media Posts in Litigation

 Professor Rhonda Wasserman was quoted in the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review on the use of social media posts in litigation.  Even posts that are available only to one’s Facebook “friends” may be discoverable and ultimately used as evidence in court.  “The fact that it’s invasive of one’s privacy does not mean in and of itself that it’s not discoverable,” Wasserman said.  “[T]his is an issue that’s going to percolate in the courts for a period of time . . . .  It’s too soon to predict what the nature of that consensus will be.”
