Linda Tashbook on the Constitutional Rights of the Homeless

Linda Tashbook, foreign, international and comparative law librarian at the University of Pittsburgh's Barco Law Library, has commented on efforts to pass a homeless bill of rights in  California.  Legislation protecting the rights of the homeless passed recently in Rhode Island, and may now be considered in California.  Ms. Tashbook has been honored for her advocacy work with the homeless by the Pennsylvania Bar Association, and is the author of the Homeless Law Blog.  She told the Pacific Sun (Marin County, California) about the 2003 case in Pittsburgh involving the rights of homeless persons, in which police sweeps of homeless people amounted to violations of the right against unreasonable searches and seizures.
