Professor Ronald Brand and Pitt Law students, working through the Center for International Legal Education, worked with students from Middle Eastern universities  to prepare them for the Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot, held every year in Vienna, Austria.  The training took place at Sultan Qaboos University in Oman.  The students who traveled to Oman participated in the competition in Vienna last year.  In an article in the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, Professor Brand explained the importance of the training to the Pitt Law students who participated.  Training others gives the Pitt students a unique opportunity to sharpen their skills as international advocates.  "You don't go into this to win the competition," Professor Brand said.  "You go into it to be a better lawyer."
