27th Annual PLISF Auction Raises $27,000

On February 7, 2013, the Pitt Legal Income Sharing Foundation (PLISF) held its 27th annual auction at Barco Law Building. PLISF is a student-run nonprofit organization associated with Pitt Law that provides scholarships to students working in unpaid public interest summer legal positions.

This year's auction was another huge success, as PLISF brought Mardi Gras to Pittsburgh with beads, balloons, and scenes from Bourbon Street. The auction is the largest fundraiser for PLISF, and this year's saw more than 250 attendees, including faculty, students, and members of the community. Among the many great items auctioned off were sports tickets and gift certificates to Pittsburgh's best restaurants. In addition, PLISF was thrilled to receive a donation from Pitt Men's Basketball Coach Jamie Dixon, which consisted of a lunch for four at the University Club with Coach Dixon himself.

PLISF is excited to announce that this year's auction raised $27,000! Proceeds will go to Pitt Law students working in unpaid public interest legal internships this summer and to support the Loan Repayment Assistance Program (LRAP) for students pursuing public interest legal careers. If you would like to donate to PLISF, please contact or visit the PLISF website here. You will be contributing to a great organization and helping students to serve the community. We hope to see you at next year's PLISF Auction.
