Publish Date/Time:

Professor Vivian Curran has written a guest column for Jurist on the recent French law criminalizing denial of the Turkish genocide of Armenians, titled “Balancing Freedom of Expression and Human Rights in France.”  Professor Curran argues that the law must be viewed in the context of French lois mémorielles, the complex history of France and EU law, noting that the French Constitutional Court will have to carefully balance dedication both to human rights and to freedom of expression.
