For the University of Pittsburgh School of Law faculty and staff, the career outcomes of our students are the highest priority. Of the 125 total graduates of the Class of 2022, 85.60% secured and began their employment by the end of the reporting period.

Additionally, for the Class of 2022:

  • 72.8% of graduates are employed in Bar Required positions.
  • 12.8% of graduates are employed in JD Advantage positions.
  • 19.2%  of graduates are employed in either the Public Interest or Government sectors.
  • 16.0% of graduates are employed either in the Business or Industry sectors.
  • 6.4% of graduates are employed in federal or state judicial clerkships.
  • Examples of law firms employing members of the Class of 2022 include: K&L Gates, Dentons, Cohen & Grigsby, Buchanan Ingersoll & Rooney, Eckert Seamans, Fish & Richardson, Steptoe & Johnson, and McGuireWoods. 
  • Corporations which hired members of the Class of 2022 include:Deloitte, KPMG, Price Waterhouse Coopers and Schneider Downs. 
     
  • Graduates are practicing with governmental agencies including District Attorney Offices; Public Defender Offices; Federal Housing Authority; US Customs and Immigration Services; US Army JAG; US Nuclear Regulatory Commission; and the US Department of Agriculture.
     
  • Graduates who entered the public interest sector are practicing with organizations including the Allegheny County Bar Pro Bono Foundation; Neighborhood Legal Services; Greater Bakersfield Legal Assistance; Women's Law Project; U.S. Steelworkers; If/When/How (Reproductive Justice); and the Delaware Riverkeeper Network.
