Lori McMaster, Esq. – Director of the OPCD
As Director of the OPCD, Lori manages and directs the OPCD staff, and counsels students and alumni in career planning, job search strategies, résumé preparation, interviewing skills, and networking. Lori directs the office’s employer outreach, which includes activities designed to increase opportunities for Pitt Law students and alumni in diverse geographic markets in both the private and public practice sectors. She also fosters effective working relationships with employers, students, alumni, staff, and other placement professionals.
Lori was awarded her B.A., cum laude, from Allegheny College. After graduating from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law in 1986, Lori practiced for nearly 20 years as a trial attorney specializing in complex corporate litigation in state, federal, and appellate courts in large and medium sized law firms in Cleveland, OH and Pittsburgh, PA. Lori was elected to, and currently serves on, the Board of Governors of the Allegheny County Bar Association (ACBA), chairs the ACBA Membership Committee, serves on the Gender Equality Committee, and is a past Chair of the ACBA Women in the Law Division. She is a Delegate, Zone 12 Representative for the Pennsylvania Bar Association House of Delegates. From 2005 - 2011, Lori was a Senior Attorney Search Director with the nation’s largest legal staffing company, and handled attorney placement for law firms and corporate legal departments.
Rochelle McCain, Esq. - Director of Public Interest and Government Relations
As Director of Public Interest and Government Relations, Rochelle counsels students and alumni on all aspects of job searching and career development, with a focus on students examining government (federal, state, and local), public sector careers and judicial clerkships and internships. Rochelle also manages the judicial clerkship program, handles the diversity initiatives of the OPCD, and assists in programming.
Rochelle attended the University of Chicago where she received a B.A. in Political Science and a B.A. in International Studies. She obtained her J.D. from the University of Houston Law Center. Prior to joining the OPCD, Rochelle worked as a Deputy Attorney General for the Office of the Indiana Attorney General (OAG) in its Consumer Protection Division’s Consumer Litigation Section where she specialized in credit services organizations, debt settlement, and all manner of deceptive consumer sales. Rochelle also served as an attorney interviewer working directly with the Human Resource Director to recruit and select applicants for the OAG law clerk program.
James (Jamey) Mentzer, Esq. – Assistant Director, JD Advantage Careers
Jamey counsels students and alumni on all aspects of professional and career development, and is primarily focused on counseling law students who seek “J.D. Advantage” positions for which a J.D. provides a demonstrable advantage, but which does not require admission to the bar. Jamey also conducts outreach to employers who seek to hire Pitt Law graduates for such positions.
Jamey attended Westminster College where he received a B.A. in Education. After working for several years with agencies that serviced at-risk children and youth, Jamey attended the University of Akron School of Law where he obtained his J.D. Prior to joining OPCD, Jamey practiced as a law clerk for the City of Akron Law Department, served as a student services counselor and academic advisor at Robert Morris University, and most recently worked in a business role with Cigna Behavioral Health.
Sarah Weissman, Esq. – Assistant Director, Private Sector Careers
Sarah coordinates the Fall and Spring Recruiting Programs, and acts as the primary liaison between law students and the private sector employers who have historically participated in on-campus recruitment. Sarah advises students and alumni in career planning, job search strategies, résumé preparation, interviewing skills, and networking, and organizes and presents career-related programs.
Sarah attended the University of Pittsburgh, where she received her B.A., cum laude, in Media Communications. She was awarded her J.D., magna cum laude, from Duquesne University School of Law. Prior to joining OPCD, Sarah practiced as a Career Associate with Orrick Herrington & Sutcliffe, where she counseled high-tech start-up companies on a range of corporate matters. Sarah began her legal career as an Associate with Meyer, Darragh, Buckler, Bebenek & Eck, focusing on commercial litigation.
Linda Coccaro – Administrative Assistant
Linda Coccaro has been with Pitt Law since 2006. Linda coordinates OPCD programming and events, handles student communications, and assists with OCI.
