Course Description
This course explores how legal disputes play out differently depending on their cultural contexts -- including the cultures of the parties and the forums. For instance, how would a dispute (such as a workplace harassment, tort, criminal law, or business dispute) differ if the parties are from different cultures within the U.S., or if the dispute is resolved in a country like China or France, or the dispute is resolved in litigation versus in arbitration? We will study expert research on cultural differences from the social sciences, business, and law.
