An examination of the law, both constitutional and statutory, as it relates to gender (defined broadly to include sex, sexual orientation and gender identity). The course will examine theory, doctrine and practical applications of the intersection of gender and the law in multiple contexts, including employment, education, reproductive rights, and sexual violence. Special attention will be paid to issues facing women in the legal profession, such as work-life balance, equal pay, and the “glass ceiling”.
