Course Description

This course examines the regulation of international trade from the perspective of public international law and policy. International Trade Law provides an overview of the development, structure and operation of the World Trade Organization (WTO), including the General Agreement on Tariffs and Trade (GATT) and Uruguay Round Agreements. We will focus on the development and application of trade law and policy through the study of the WTO Agreements and jurisprudence. The course will also give some consideration to preferential trade arrangements and customs unions, such as the North American Free Trade Agreement and the European Union.
