Grading Details

Class participation (20%) and written open-book exam (80%).
The final exam will be given approximately one week after the final class.

Description

The course introduces students to the basic features of the European Union and its legal order. It provides the necessary knowledge and skills to discuss and use EU law in practice. It creates a foundation for independent research. The course focuses on the EU constitutional order, including its internal market, and the main actors, especially the Court of Justice and its role in shaping the legal order. Whenever applicable, comparison will be made between the US and EU constitutional orders.
