Additional Information: 

Students are required to draft a brief policy reform proposal on a juvenile justice issue of their choice. Each proposal must identify a juvenile justice issue or challenge, highlight a national or local policy bearing on that issue, and propose a reform to the policy that could alleviate the issue or lead to better outcomes for youth and communities.

 

Grading Details: 

This 3 credit course consists of lectures, engaging hypotheticals, and other similar exercises that challenge students’ critical thinking skills. Grades will be based on a final exam, submission of a brief juvenile justice policy reform proposal, and classroom participation. The total grade will be determined as follows: Final Exam 70%, Brief Policy Proposal 20%, Class Participation 10%.
